Infant and Toddler Center

The Infant and Toddler Center model is a school site based program that is available to school employees’ and members of the community who have children between the ages of three months old through three years old. The vision for providing a model child care program within an elementary and middle school is to bring high quality child care services closer to the employees’ and community members’ worksites. The continuity of care and education, beginning in infancy through elementary and middle school years, will promote student learning and encourage parent engagement. Through active parent involvement, parent engagement will be strengthened as parents learn how to support their child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

The Creative Curriculum researched-based curriculum model is used with all age groups. The active learning approach, with flexible schedules, routines and supportive adult-child interactions, is highly effective in fostering learning, initiative, and a sense of self in young children. This approach addresses each child’s needs at their developmental level and focuses on enhancing initiative, independence, and creative problem solving.

Program Staffing

Program oversight is provided by the Office of Early Childhood Programs. The daily program operation is supervised by the school’s administration.
